I have decided to make an entirely different forum on a different subject which does not include Sherwood. The domain of the new site is www.computertroll.com
I am going to migrate all of this user base over to the new forum so you guys wont need to register. You are all welcome over to the new forums. It will mostly be about computer related material and solving users computer problems.

I will leave this forum completely in tact but I will almost completely cease to moderate it and it will only be for discussing Sherwood.
It will probably just stay dead. But who knows?

Sherwood 1.6 has been launched.

Lot's of behind the scenes changes. The Q/A interface (the one used for in game help) and the quest interface have merged. That's why the quest interface looks different - with icons for the reward items. This was done so I can create more complex quests that might not fit on one page and have a generic interface I can adapt in the future for blacksmiths and trainers.

Chests on the islands were a challenge because of how tightly linked they were to the dungeon. They will be needed for quest items in the future if I decide to do collection quests.

Sell prices were dropped in half. This is partialy mitigated by the fact that monster drop items on the islands, but also just intented to make gold a little harder to aquire.

Health potions were capped at 10, but only for new potions. If you already have a lot of potions I don't take them away. I suspect this will sort itself out over time.

I thought if I laid down a base for the forum to grow that it would grow on its own but apparently it needs to be shaped up a little and looked after.

What I want to know is..... Which games or topics should this forum be covering. Forget about the name that's easy to change. Which topics would you guys like to see? And would they be do-able?

Well it's been a while since I have been on a sherwood forum, and this one seems a bit inactive, so I thought of some simple plans on getting more members:

*These are just suggestions, not rules or guidelines. You probably know most of this, but I would rather make it more clear for those who don't.*

1) Getting listed on Google. done

2) Learning better hacks. Gene has been making it hard to hack, and I understand this, however a break through hack may encourage others to search for a "sherwood hacking site", hence leading them here.

3) Basic Advertising. Get an auto-typer, and have it move you to the consecutive room after every message is displayed. The runescape auto typer will work, or you could make your own, so you don't have to keep typing "/joinxx" every time you open the AT. I would suggest just leaving this on for the whole day, so everyone in that server will hear about the site. Or you could just self-type other message every once and a while.

4) More participation. Simply stated, the more active a forum is, the more it will entice a user to join.

5) Nicer environment. Try being NICER, this means no swearing, arguing, or being disrespectful. This will make other users actually want to join.

6) Entertainment such as a Plaza (done)

7) Letting others view the forum before having to sign up. This will allow the user to see the site and decide whether or not they want to sign up. Seeing a blank screen in front of them will only make them think that the forum is out-of-date, or has no members.

8) More categories (more categories give people more things to relate on, and more things to post about. I would suggest a graphics section for those who are artistically inclined.)

9) A better look particularly the banner. I do not mean to be rude, but the banner is just two renders with text over them, there really isn't much flow. Other than that the forum looks great.

10) Having Fun A new user would want to see other users having fun, and therefore would make them think that if they joined they would have fun as well. I am not exactly sure on how to approach this improvement, but I am sure it can be done.
